Wii Menu? Running Modded Games?

I've looked around and can't seem to find any means of using the wii menu in dolphin. I've seen it done, and managed to find a 4.0 PAL version of the wii menu but I wasn't able to run it. I also have a Wii but no SD card, so is there any other way to either run the 4.0 PAL menu I found or copy mine to my PC from my Wii through LAN or something? I've read here that it's possible to dump your NAND onto your PC, which I think has something to do with the Wii Menu (correct me if I'm wrong), but you need an SD card even for the first method (which supposedly doesn't require an SD card...?) because you need to have ftpii on your wii, and the only way to do that is to have an SD card (according to http://wiibrew.org/wiki/FTPii). So I'm pretty confused if that isn't already obvious. Tongue

The only thing I'm trying to do is be able to run modded games. I don't believe that's possible unless you can access the Wii Menu and thus the homebrew channel to load the hacks from the SD.RAW file that dolphin creates. If anybody could help me out that'd be just awesome.

Correct.

You can wirelessly transfer ftpii to the Wii without an SD card. But it is much easier to use an SD card or a usb stick.

Not sure if the Wii Menu/HBC is required to run modded games. You should be able to run the modded game without HBC. It depends on how the game is modded.

if your wii is softmodded, why not extract your bootmii nand ? much easier and better

and if your wii is softmodded but you dont have bootmii (not even bootmii as ios) then thats uber fail

as for running modded content ; i know nothing about it but i fail to see how running sys menu in dolphin could change the signature hash check...

If you mean modding by file replacement, you can simply swap the files in the iso with wiiscrubber. If it's 100+ files, it gets troublesome of course. Wii menu channels other than disc channel doesn't work yet so forget about the homebrew channel. (Maybe you can get Dolphin to boot boot.dol files somehow, IDK)

i dont have bootmii or a "softmodded" wii. my wii isn't modded in the slightest. i havent been able to do so without an SD card, which i believe is my main problem.

the last sentence doesnt make sense to me, im not that familiar with wii emulation yet.

wiiscrubber seems to be the most plausible option thus far... im connected through wired LAN and i dont believe i can transfer anything without a wireless adapter so i mightas well just change the iso

EDIT: Wow... this program is a lot more complex than I'd expected. i created the key.bin file and loaded wiiscrubber, opened the brawl iso... so now what? trimming just seems to make the file smaller and i cant figure out that scrubbing it does anything particularly.

You right-click the files you want to replace and choose the replacement, scrubbing is just for compression

Damn... scrolling down would've helped me a lot. Thanks and sorry for bugging you all for something so incredibly simple lol.
