on Mario Party 8 I'm having problems with the fps dropping below 60fps how do I resolve this problem when there isn't an answer I've been looking for on the wiki

Are you on the latest dev build of Dolphin?
Do you have the latest GPU drivers installed? What settings are you using (post pictures to like Imgur or something and link them here would be nice)? Do you have Windows Power in High Performance? Do you have Nvidia Control Panel setup with a profile for Dolphin to use High Performance power plan? 03-29-2019, 03:02 AM

Edit Reason: 60fps drop and stuttering

Yes. https://imgur.com/QYwZ3Yc https://imgur.com/4iu99fs https://imgur.com/CrJGZZA https://imgur.com/rNoRMQb No. No. *EDIT* I may have to change the image links because I updated Dolphin to 5.0-9820, more details still drops below 60fps and stutters 03-29-2019, 05:11 AM

Try switching over to async ubershaders, might help.
Try turning off vsync and see if that does anything. Since you said no to the power tings, try enabling those, see what they do. 03-29-2019, 07:53 AM

I did the async ubershaders on Mario Party 8, on the menu it seems to run ok but it was stutter at first but when I launched another different program it made the stutter stop, first part I went to was Party Tent no lag or stutter fps ran fine, when I started in a map things were stutter and fps dropped below 60fps and in the game the graphics of it were almost terrible like no lining if you know what I mean, I have two other wii games on the emulator and they work fine in fact so fine I've almost completed one of them

I found out how to stop the lag on Mario Party 8 Wii add this advice to Dolphin wiki if you have access to it, I switched the Backend to Vulkan it was last set to Direct3D 11 so if your experiencing lag spikes and stutters Switch the Backend to: Vulkan but in game you'll maybe bump into lag bumps if you know what I mean but its not too major only happens for one second well less then one second something zero-point-five second, all this is from the emulator I use Dolphin 5.0-9859

Just sneaking in here for a second to say I LOVE that Dolphin is supporting Vulkan for macOS users via MoltenVK, esp. since Apple has officially deprecated OpenGL support.

I was wondering what the process is for reporting issues when emulated games, because so far I have noticed a few issues with this title when running it on Dolphin. I can list the issues here but I don't know if there's some official process for reporting them, since this is the first time I've encountered issues that haven't been reported.
The issues I've ran into include: *Stampede does not load, resulting in a softlock *The image on the jumbotron for Star Battle Arena is misaligned with the screen *The buy option at the surprise wagon in Fun Bazaar does not appear, and thus certain minigames and the Very Hard difficulty cannot be accessed without hacks *The jukebox softlocks you by preventing pointer control The stampede issue in particular is fairly serious, and I'm not really sure how the game can be listed as "playable" when emulation-exclusive softlocks like this exist. |
