Nyreen, if your iso is dumped properly, are you using either DX11 or EFB to RAM (or both)? If so, try switching the graphics backend or using EFB to texture.

Why did the error say "not through EAX" tho? 09-08-2013, 06:15 AM
I got the same problem.
Solution: Don't use DX11 with EFB2Ram. This issue has existed as far back as 3.0, as I have way too much free time to test random things. Plus, why does the game slow down on the track selection screen (~58 FPS), and stutter when you select a character (the animation) and the camera 180 swing before Lakitu appears on the screen? 09-08-2013, 07:00 AM
EFB to RAM is needed to emulate the flare effect. I think the slowdown perhaps have to do with the track previews on each option.

Yes, I know about the flare. If your computer is fast enough, use OpenGL (or DX9 [shudder]) with EFB2Ram. I don't really care about a minor effect that increases CPU usage by a lot, so I don't turn EFB2Ram on. But it's necessary for Mario Sunshine.

If you have a SSD try moving your ISO there. If you don't have one, try using RAMDisk to see if it helps.
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670k @ 4.4GHz
GPU: GAINWARD GeForce GTX 1080 Phoenix "GLH" RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X DDR3 16GB 1600MHz CL7 OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 09-09-2013, 02:34 AM
You wasted half an hour of my time! </whine>
The ramdisk did not helped. I didn't get any stutter in the character select, but the movie was still a bit too slow, by a tiny bit. Will be very stuttery once they add new-zelda-hle. The intro was still slightly stuttery, but better than before. But when I tested with the normal hard-drive image, the game was still close to stutter-free. 09-23-2013, 05:33 AM
Any Linux users that have managed to get this running at playable speeds?
I have been battling this game for the best part of a day to experiment with different configurations but I cannot seem to get more than 25fps in-game. OS: Xubuntu 13.04 Core i7 @ 3.4Ghz GTX 295 (Official Nvidia Drivers 325.15) Dolphin 3.5-2368 Internal Resolution = Auto (Desktop = 1920 x 1080) AA = None Scaled EFB Copy = True Disable Fog = True Skip EFB Access from CPU = True Ignore Format Changes = False EFB Copies = Texture External Frame Buffer = Disabled Vertex Streaming Hack = True 09-23-2013, 06:16 AM
Discovered the reason for my slowdown. My individual game settings were set to disable dual core.
Also had to set internal resolution to 1x Getting around 45 - 50 FPS now. Not perfect but definitely playable. Note: There is a bug on the Linux gui whereby the tick boxes in "individual game settings" do not show a partial tick for "undetermined" making it difficult to tell if it is set to none or not. 09-26-2013, 06:52 PM
I get about 20-45 FPS on this, Dolphin 4.0. i7 720QM runs at 1,6 GHz but uses Turbo Boost to get to 2,8 GHz.
My settings; GENERAL; Open GL ENHANCEMENTS; Internal Resolution ; 1xNative Anti Aliasing : 2x (if I disable this, all the character models disappear ingame) Anisotropic: 1x Scaled EFB copy is checked, all the other options are not HACKS; Skip EFB acces from CPU & Ignore Format changes are checked External Frame Buffer disabled Cache Display Lists & Fast Depth Calculation are checked Kind of disappointed in the general FPS and also the audio is pretty messed up. It's playable, but I expected more tbh, so that's why I'm posting here. Any tips? |
