Brand new member of the forum and wii->pc user says hi to all of you!
Just installed Dolphin 2.0 and Super Mario Galaxy 2 on my Windows 7 comp. - very impressed by what you guys acomplished!!!
Adn here I am with my scream - "H E L P !!! to set up PC usb gamepad".
I lost in wiimotes and nunchaks. If anybody can send me to site where I can see step by step description how to assign all that buttons.
Dolphy recognises my gamepad. but I was able to assign anly A, B, and jump. No left/right/up/down/.../...
It seems I don't understand something very simple in that mapping structure, phleeeezzzzzze?

If you're using a controller with an analog stick if you look here:

And change it to "analog 1" it should do the trick.

Left/Right/Up/Down. Is the directional pad on the Wiimote, and to my knowledge (cant remember or at least I've never used em) arnt needed in Mario Galaxy.

This is what my configuration looks like for my Xbox Controller, post back with your results! =D And as you can see to the left, I've backed up both Mario Galaxy and Mario Galaxy 2 and they run fine.

It worked perfectly with an Xbox controller for me, I was able to play the level without any hitches or messups, I think it crashed once or twice but that was due to my own fault in the configuration. So that screenshot just proves that it works =D

How do you do "waggle" and use Yoshi's tongue circling with a gamepad?

What is ""waggle""? Big Grin

@ Yoshi's tongue:
You can't control the IR pointer with your gamepad on the old wiimote plugin. You must use your mouse.
You can with the new wiimote plugin, though you may not like the way the cursor is positioned when using a analog stick. (relative positioning of the cursor is not yet implemented)
You can get the new wiimote plugin with any somewhat recent svn build.

Thank you PewpewFiah. I am using xbox360 controller, copied all your data and it works very nice. The only bothers me - have no clue how you decided to chose that settings, it means I will not be able to do it for a different game (or they are valid for most of them?). And speed of the game getting slower, I am in a range of 40-60% that killed my guy twice. I was trying to read tips for the speed increasing - no much help.
I tried 2 Dolphy versions (2.0 and r..something) and it seems that 2.0 is faster. What would be your (guys) suggestion.

Thanks again for your help.

You're very welcome =]
How do you mean you have no clue how I decided to choose those settings? That was just me trying to get a comfortable feel for Wii Games on a controller, nothing special.

That setup should work for all Wii games if that's what you're getting at.
I'd show you my GameCube configuration aswell if you want, but it's more or less the same. I'm actually quite new to the Dolphin scene myself but I'm getting stuck in straight away so I'll try help as best I can.

The one thing you NEED for Mario Galaxy 1&2 for a speedup is "Enable EFB copy to Texture" rather than Ram, some games need it to be ram, Mario Sunshine for example, or else the 'sludge/goop/graffiti' doesn't work properly.

I'm running a mid-range ish laptop and I don't get very high speeds (at least I don't think so) , I'll test them in a minute, mine are at a very playable state, I think it's between 60-80% I get if I configure it properly. Dolphin is quite dependant on the computer you're playing on though, fancy new computer = Good Dolphin Speeds, old sluggish computer = slow annoying speeds.

2.0 won't be that good for Mario Galaxy I'd bet since it's an older revision, plus the Luma's will look horrendous. But it is in no means bad for it, I had 2.0 for ages till I got my SVN setup properly so I could compile Dolphin, then I found this website and it made it so much easier Tongue

The best place for configurations is this website really, the Wiki pages are generally a big hand.
SMG Configuration
and Mario Galaxy 2 respectively:
SMG2

If you're still having slowdowns and whatnot I'll post my configurations.
Again lemme know how you get on! =D
