I just built a new HTPC with the following specs:
I5-3570k, 8GB, 6850 1GB I threw Mario Galaxy 2 up with 3x rendering, 1080p output, 4x AA and 16x AF. I was getting almost a constant 60fps with some slowdowns into the 40’s. I then turned AA off inside of Dolphin, set it to 2x in Catalyst Control Center and am now getting 60fps all the time. Watching task manager my 4 cores look to never get above 40%. I was shocked because I thought this game really hammered the CPU. I then tried playing Link Crossbow. WHAT A DISASTER! Major lag when firing the crossbow and after a while I’m getting extremely delayed sound from the Wiimote to the point where if I stop firing the Wiimote will be making sounds for 5-10 seconds. It’s bad. Seeing how well Mario Galaxy 2 runs on this system leaves me a little dumbfounded that Link is playing so bad. Could this be a Bluetooth issue? The USB Bluetooth device I’m using was purchased off Amazon about 3 years ago and I paid like $3 for it. It’s a version 1 Bluetooth, which I read to buy. Here it is: http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Bluetooth...354&sr=1-3 I also tried Wii Sports and that plays fine as well. Just really want to get Link Crossbow working so any help is greatly appreciated! 12-12-2012, 08:14 AM
Unfortunately, even with games that it theoretically works for, the Wiimote speaker is not worthy of being listened to. I found it best to disable it by turning on 'Alternate Wiimote Timings' in the game's properties. With this off (and probably with it on too) I usually get fullspeed (with some slowdowns too). It should run at fullspeed for you too.
