The songs that are slow (e.g. Call Me Maybe) generally have a lot more graphical effects (like the floating icons in the background, the screen movement/flashes, the moving cell phone screen, etc) than the other songs, thus, requiring more CPU power, this is why lowering the graphics doesn't improve: it sounds a bit strange, but in Dolphin a lot of the video emulation part is handled by the CPU, even having a dedicated GPU. Right now, the only thing you can do is getting a better computer (with a faster processor) or wait, Dolphin is being constantly optimized, in future you may be able to run JD4 full speed with your current processor...Thanks again for your quick response. I had thought the backgrounds and the dancers were all the recorded videos , not realtime effects. Anyway, I can enjoy other songs and other games with a hope of future optimization, since the dolphin team always give me surprises! Thank you again, Jhonn!

Fun facts when I messed with the game files: this depends of the game. Just Dance games and their spinoffs (at least on the Wii version) always use pre-rendered videos for the dancers, but everything else are real time effects, the only exception I found so far is in Abba: You Can Dance, where the entire scene is a pre-rendered video...

I also noticed that the audio and the dancers are not in sync. Tried using several different setting and none seemed to solve the issue.

I'm trying to run this game with no luck. The song I'm using for test (I have to run this one) is We no speak Americano.
I don't have the Wiimote, I'll buy it once I'm sure the games I want to play run smoothly. I'm running it on C2Q 6600 2,4GHz, and Radeon 3870. I've tried plenty of versions. On 3.5 and variations, it runs relatively smooth, with some artifacts on the dancer, but it hangs after a short while. On version 4 and variations, it's irritatingly slow (with the same artifacts). I've tried plenty of different settings to increase speed, but no luck. I'm using 640x480 fullscreen resolution. Tried OpenGL, DX9 and DX11. I can try to run it in Linux (currently I'm using Windows 7), but the old drivers for my old ATI are pretty rubbish, so my hopes are too low to try. Could try to overclock it (I'm trying to avoid it since it's an old machine, but it's an option). Does anybody have any idea? 03-06-2014, 05:11 AM
Only Dolphin 3.5-2143 and newer will work properly with JD3/JD4. Anything older than that will randomly freeze after some time. By the way, current development builds should give you almost zero audio latency, but your processor is too weak to handle this game. To get speed improvements you would need at least a Sandy Bridge CPU...

I was using newer builds than 3.5-2143, but to no avail. So, it's the CPU thing, after all, no way of running it even if overclocked...
Is there any older version worth trying? Thanks a lot for a really speedy reply! 03-06-2014, 12:36 PM
The oldest version compatible with JD4 you can test is Dolphin 3.0-712 from wii-network branch. Dolphin r6515 would probably run JD4 at full speed with that CPU, but since it lacks the Nintendo WFC emulation, it would randomly freeze after some minutes, making it unplayable...
Please note also that we only support current development builds and the latest stable release (currently 4.0.2) in forums, so, you won't get support if you choose using an outdated build...

Thanks again
I was actually asking about older versions of JD, whether it's worth even trying with my machine, but I've already tried it (and it seems to be). If I get into trouble, better to ask in the appropriate thread after all 03-07-2014, 11:42 PM
The least demanding game in the series is JD2. JD4 will have noticable slowdowns on Just Sweat in transitions between songs even on i5-3570k.
