Can't really say, I'm no expert... The speed does drop to 50-60% in some places, but it's still playable even if a bit laggy. Playing around with the settings is the key I suppose...

the game is just that hard to emulate, it requires a pretty fast cpu.

Is it? His CPU is only 2.3Ghz 5200+ and he gets 80-90% speed. Sounds like it's pretty easy to emulate if you ask me. Oh, and the game has frame rate problems during cut scenes. This actually happens on the real Wii as well. The guys at Marvelous aren't the greatest tech wizards out there. If you're having frame rate problems during the cut scenes, don't worry about it.

I might try emulating this game just for the heck of it though.

I have Phenom 720@3.2GHz and got exactly that speed in some spot, and if you do search around you'll see that other people with higher spec also got about the same fps. This might have to do with the game or Dolphin itself.

Feel free to test it and proves me wrong though.

This game does have a lot of glitches aswell as a high cpu load. In the watery cave you need to switch cpu emulation engine on the 20th floor to remove a movement glitch. So, There something wrong with the cpu emulation with this game.
