Yeah fair enough, it may degrade overall performance, but if you set it up correctly, it should stop the 1-5fps slowdowns.
And the reason is to stop those nasty slowdowns, that is due to the shader compilation time. This build makes sure they compile asynchronously. But can make it look horrible lol.

During these slowdowns i saw an improvement of around 50FPS.

[EDIT]
Just played again with the new build, i think it is faster, still slowed down a few times, although it may be because of the cached shaders. Your slowdown may be something else, so this build wont help, sorry, don't take my advice Wink

Hello!

I read through the thread and couldn't find anything about this specific issue?

The game seems to have occasional scenes which have a sort of foggy filter on top of them.
even in the same room, one moment its crystal clear, the next its hazy.

I put up this video as an example.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-u2VYczLvw

The video is clear up until 0:27, but at 0:28 it goes blurry. and at 0:38, it suddenly resumes clarity.

any insight into this?

Think i've had that problem before, i don't exactly remeber how it was fixed, but i believe it was fixed by disabling "Store EFB Copies to Texture Only" (Using EFB to RAM).

any one had this issue?the game runs at full 30fps on direct3d with no over/underclocking,but only when standing still.when you start moving, the framerate drops to <10 still you stop, then returns to 30fps.

That is due to the shadercache continually compiling shaders. There is no fix for this in the dolphin master, however (and hopefully i don't get told off for recommending this again)
you can use this custom (unofficial) dolphin build here: Link

This build should provide a workaround for any slowdowns associated with the shader cache (while trading the slowdowns with graphical glitches), all you have to do is enable "Full Async Shader Compilation" under the hacks tab in the graphics settings (while using this custom build)

Be warned though, the method used in this UNOFFICIAL build can create many graphical glitches.
From my experience, this game relies heavily on constantly updating shader caches, due to this, certain objects constantly flicker while you're playing.
It's up to you to decide whether this is better or not...

i dunno about that but the fps drops happens to me..the problem gets even worse later on..it get to the point were the game is unplayble for me..after the chase and cutseen into the cave as soon as you go beyond a sertin point the fps tanks to like 2. when moving at all it seems to fluctuate like crazy when you have to battle in that cave with the monsters..if you manage to bypass this part when you get out to the open world area.. every step you take will drop the fps again.and...its very od beacuse if you dont move the fps gos back to normal again..trying to lower the settings to lowest internal res possible..dosent make a dif..and this is on a 980ti. the game is seriously broken..iv wanted to play this game for a long time but have been unable to do so.

Edit: i just tryd with the unofficial ishiirukas latest build and the game is actualy totaly playble now it seems..i did load my save though. but on previous attempts playing this on dolphin i could not get any further cuz of the fps drops when moving..this build has totaly seemd to fix that. in the open world there is no fps drops anymore..at first there were flashing textures but its totaly clearnd up now and now there is no glitches present..made it as far as the desert down.and no slowdown at all so far I have skip efb accsess, fast depth calculation, predictive FIFO and full Async shader compilation enabled running at 4k with 8x internal resoution and its buttery smooth...awsome

That's good to hear. Maybe now that someone has successfully tested the ishiiruka build i wont get mocked anymore for suggesting it Wink
I actually still noticed flashing textures last time i tested it, so that is all fixed then? awesome.

Ok, so I'm trying to play this game, right?
so it's working great and all (graphics aren't amazing but I'm not super worried about it), when I run into a problem.

So I end up in this cave thing, and suddenly I can't see the world anymore. It's a blue void with my pointer and the HUD on it.
So I tried the different backends, no dice until the software renderer. Which of course isn't all that helpful since the game isn't really playable at what amounts to 000.1 frame per second. Soooo, I've messed with a bunch of settings but not found anything that works yet, any ideas?
