Please Help.. Game runs fine with dx11 and Dx9 on dolphin 4.0.2 am getting 60fps plus more with frame limiter off. So now you know its not my hardware.. But anyways
Am getting sudden frame drops 1fps randomly but thats only when am fighting monsters. It seems like a certain spot in the battlefield that I get these frame drops to 1fps Its just random its weird cause then i'll have 60fps and then a sudden drop to 1fps its so annoying and ruins the experience. please help this issue i tried changing alot of settings, but I still get the same issue. Same thing on every dolphin revision I tried maybe its a problem with the game??
My Computer Specs are.
CPU: AMD Phenom II 1600T x6 4.3ghz
GPU: AMD Radeon 7850 2gb
RAM: 12GB DDR3 @1920mhz
OS: WINDOWS 8.1 64bit.

Like i said I followed the wiki pages settings suggested there, plus tinkered with the settings my self to fix the sudden frame drops to 1fps when fighting monsters. And the problem is not my cpu cause the game runs fine elsewhere.

My current settings are the ones on the wiki page.

I am using the latest stable Dolphin (4.0.2) and I can't seem to get consistent acceptable performance in this game. OpenGL plays best, but all renderers have issues. VBeam helps, so make sure to enable it. And there is also weird flickering textures, especially in water parts.

My specs:
GPU: EVGA GeForce 780 Ti
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit Service Pack 1
Memory: G.SKILL Trident X 1866MHZ 8-9-9-24 16GB
CPU: Intel i7-3930k SB-E
Sound: Creative Sound Blaster Z

EFB-Texture gives the best performance, but has a weird blurring effect on screen. And in certain parts of the game EFB-Texture gives no image and you must use EFB-RAM to get picture back, but performance on EFB-RAM with this game is really bad, even on a high end system like mine.

Have tried several of the Hack settings in Dolphin and nothing seems to help.
My System: Windows 7 x64, Intel i7 5820k 4.5Ghz, nVidia 980 GTX, 16GB DDR4 2400mhz 13-13-13-35

Do you get 1fps when message appears at the bottom of the screen? When this happens if you stop moving will help until news are over.

from start the game runs fine apart from the glitched water but soon after the cutseen in the city the frame drops and then gose up again and random stops when loading new areas start happning. but after the chase with the chocobos and gards the game becomes unplayble. the cutseen slowsdown and gos back up again. and after that in the cave the walls are constanly flashing and as soon as i move forword after the ledge my fps stays at 1fps untill i stop and do nothing. then it shoots back up to 30. unfortunatly this is a game breaker since it makes it practicly unplayble.

After ppc flags optimization merged this game runs full speed almost all the time. Light slowdown only when news are shown at the bottom line, but it's just a sec. or two, and it's very bearable. Also with r2354 most of the glitches are gone (flashing textures are mostly gone and fur on the jacket are correctly rendered). Water shader is not there just yet but it's better than it was. Only thing that's left is that annoying need to switch to RAM in the ruins. Good job guys and thank you. I can't wait to see what will galop1n branch bring.

I don't get it....i tried 2356 and exactly the same problem on both backends. looking at it windowed the emulator is at 100% when i am not moving. but when i move it fluctuates from 100% to 95,90.89 and the fps gos from 30 to 1fps. and will only go back to 30 when i stop moving..this happened as soon as i enter the cave in the cliff area. lowering the settings to 1x with no eye candy dose not change performance.same thing happens..its very strange. this is the only game that dose this for me. everything els i have with the exception of some titles like last story and Metroid trilogy all run fine more or Les maxed out at IR 3x 4x AA. with little problems. have i missed something vital in setting up this game config properly?

i pushed my way painfully through the cave in the cliff area and after that it was fine in the ruins area.solid 30fps but with flickering textures on the statues. i had to switch to ram to see the moving wall part. witch dropped my fps very low then soon after switching back to texture..everything was working fine.solid 30fps no problem in cut seens.then i got outside..and the fps problem happened again. i tried to play through it to see if it got better but it did not..the emulator was fluctuating 100% 50% 5% .changing ir did nothing to the fps or the % level of the emulator. Dolphin soon crashed with these two windows

Try the area in single core and see if it crashes like that; if so, you may wanna report this issue.

Strange. I started over with r2356 and now I'm at the vineyard. I had lower frames with moving that went up full frame when i stopped, but only when the news ribbon were showing, and performance hit wasn't nearly so severe. Even more strange is that my Ivy is not overclocked. @domjam did you use save states?
