The Menu text is blocked out in boxes same with video sequance text and ingame tutorials.

Did you try to move the texture cache slider closer to the safe side?

3.0 776 32-bit. Still unsure how to fix these issues. it allows me to resume but those pop-up boxes keep coming up. :-(
