Yeeaaah ya know. Don't count on that changing any time soon. Just use regular saves for now.
I don't use save states for any emulator at all. I like to think I'm using the original console, and save states ruin that.

So what is wrong with the state save programming anyway?? State saves dont ruin anything. State save lets the game know that I dont press buttons for bragging rights. State save is God's gift to video games. Whoever invented it should be given multiple awards

That is the depth of my knowledge on the matter (if a dev wants to come correct me and explain go for it). I like going through the save process like I did on the original console. It's just a preference. You apparently love them, but I don't really like them at all. It's just a personal preference.

When I first discovered state save on older emulators years ago... My jaw just dropped... like once I figured out what it actually does and how it works.... I was just like.... I dunno... thought I died and went to heaven. Its like I entered a whole new dimension of reality.... because for so long in my upbringing playing games as a kid... ya know... like Mario 1 etc.... All the times I pressed the jump button but mario fell off the edge anyway... or stupid crap like that... I had always wished that you could just simply press a button and then let the game know that ya didnt press the jump button because it feels good on the fingers....... then like even right when I found it I started using it... and was just like..... NOOOO WAAY... YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!!!!! It actually was possible... Never again has the games I played ever decided that I pressed a button just to prove that I know how.... now every game knows that I pressed the button because I actually wanted to press it... not just for bragging rights.... ya know.... So now whenever I play video games, I always make sure I have state save at the ready.... so like Im playing a game and Im halfway through the level and Im about to reach a hard part.... im just like.... get this big smirk on my face and suddenly... DOINK!!! A big ol' smack on the state save button.... then when I go through it and the game decides I ya know... just pressed the jump button for bragging rights..... that big smirk again... and DOINK!!!! A big ol' smack on the state load button.... Then I say to the game... "Ya... if I wanna die I'll do it myself" or "Ya... If I didnt want Mario to jump I wouldnt have press the jump button...." Then I keep going... and I try again.... sometimes it takes 10 tries or more, but the game will get it eventually.... eventually the game will learn that I dont press button because they feel good or look pretty... I press them FOR A REASON. :-)
State Save: Because no gamer presses a button to prove that they know how. 09-24-2012, 10:19 AM
Lol ok. I get your point as to why it would be useful. I don't find most of the games on Dolphin that difficult though. The old NES games like the original Super Mario Bros. were extremely frustrating at times though.

Actually, the faster your CPU is the less likely you are to have problems with a savestate so he can keep using them if he wishes but normal saves will always be recommended
