Hi! I'm sorry if this has been asked a lot but I'm wondering if the issue with the cursor showing up on the screen was ever solved. I've looked and can't find a definitive answer on that. I've been trying to play Super Mario Galaxy but don't get very far due to the cursor not showing up. Is there a way to use the Real Wii Remote setting and get the cursor to work? That would be preferable over the Emulated Wii Remote and using the mouse.

Assuming the emulated remote is the only option, are there detailed instructions anywhere because I'm not 100% sure what needs to be calibrated.

Thanks!

You need a sensor bar.

A Wii sensor bar can connect to a computer? Is there a specific kind that works best? Thanks!

There is no connection involved. The sensor bar just needs to get power from somewhere. In the case of the official sensor bar from Nintendo, the power plug only fits in a Wii and Wii U, but that's fine – you can keep the sensor bar plugged in into a Wii while you are running Dolphin on your PC. There are also third-party sensor bars available that are powered by USB or battery.

I would suggest any generic USB-powered or battery-powered sensor bar. Keep in mind that there also is something called the DolphinBar – you likely don't want to use one of those if you already have a working Bluetooth adapter, since might not function as a sensor bar unless you have a Wii Remote connected to its built-in Bluetooth adapter.

I started reading about the DolphinBar and I'll probably give that a shot. My remotes connect to the bluetooth adapter in the computer so I'm assuming it'll be fine. It never even occurred to me that a sensor bar would work so I'm excited to test that out. Thanks for the input!

The DolphinBar will likely not work as a sensor bar unless you start connecting your Wii Remote to the DolphinBar instead of the Bluetooth adapter in your computer. But maybe that is something you are okay with.
