I can't seem to find what I'm looking for when I search the wiki or the forums.
Basically, I'm just wondering the hows and whys of what the emulated Wii console sees the controller as if I'm using an xInput controller such as xbox 360 or steam.
For example, sometimes it will recognize my controller as a gamecube controller (MarioKart Wii) after I've changed nothing and went back to play the same exact game. Usually this will happen after visiting a different game. I play through Steam Big Picture, so each time I load a new game I completely close and reopen Dolphin.
I also notice that if I ever load up Mario Galaxy after playing, say, New Super Mario Wii., that my controller behaves differently when I load NSMW back up. I guess I'm just looking for the most in-depth explanations of how this works (obviously not down to binary, but for the saavy layman).
