Wii Controller Not Connecting.

I've recently tried connecting my real Wii Controller to Dolphin but have been having issues. New to Dolphin so sorry in advance if information is missing or this has already been answered.

Windows 7, Dolphin Version 5.0-11856
I have also installed the HID Wii Certificate and Driver stuff

I've gotten the controller to pair with Dolphin once before but have had 0 luck trying to re-connect it/Connect any other controllers. I'm using a bluetooth USB dongle to connect it to my PC (ASUS, USB-BT400 Bluetooth 4.0 fully compatible with all devices. 3.0, 2.1 and 2.0)
I'm able to pair the controller with my PC no problem, I open the Bluetooth tray, Add Devices, hold down 1 + 2 or the red sync button, it downloads the drivers no problem and pairs. For some reason the lights indicate player 2, 3, and 4.

When I then go to Dolphin and click refresh (or have continuous scanning on) while holding down 1 + 2 or the red sync button, it goes to install the drivers, but then the Wii Remote then unpairs from my PC, disappearing from the Devices menu. In the driver installation menu/pop-up it says that the device has been unplugged even though the USB is still plugged in.

Don't pair them to the computer.  They have to be paired within Dolphin.  If you go to the hotkey menu, you can assign the "Sync" to a keyboard button (I chose "S").  Once you run the emulator and run a game, press "S" then press the sync button on the Wiimote.  I have the same adapter, and have never been able to connect it with the 1+2 sync.  Typically, my 1st wiimote will stay paired when starting the emulator again.  If you push any button on it with a game running, it should connect.  I usually have to reconnect any other wiimotes, one at a time.  Press "S", press the red sync button, wait for a connection.  Sometimes I have to try 2-3 times before it works, but it always works.

Additionally, I have to force the bluetooth adapter in the dolphin.ini by putting in the PID and VID values instead of the -1 it has by default, so my ini looks like so near the bottom:

Code:
[BluetoothPassthrough]
Enabled = True
VID = 2821
PID = 6091
LinkKeys = 40:d2:8a:e7:92:5d=278d7c9ebb6a7f069e12a1becf899462,40:d2:8a:cd:6b:68=3607eea27b43884095338ead32283faf,40:d2:8a:e7:92:a9=aa36b7e9f0dfd3d02399f7fcfb8997fd,40:d2:8a:cd:a4:d9=dc481ed5dec684cf303d43e51c1b2385
[USBPassthrough]
Devices = 0b05:17cb

There are two versions of this adapter, so if your device ID does not match, use a hex to binary converter to put the appropriate numbers in for the PID and VID.  0b05 = 2821, 17cb = 6091

(*special note that after two years I have now suddenly lost all bluetooth passthrough support, but prior to yesterday it worked great)

I'm also having a lot of trouble with passthrough. I have to either completely reinstall the drivers for it to pair, but if the game crashes for any reason, (I'm testing the Pandora's Tower USA infamous crash) I can't pair the wiimotes for the life of me even if I whitelist in the menu or in the ini. Also, is libusk better than winUSB, because I almost seem to have better connection with winUSB?

The weird part about this is that every single time I can't connect but close the game, the wiimote stops blinking as if it was connected.

Edit: Actually, it appears that if the game crashes I need to reinsert my bluetooth adapter. Nice.
My current rig.

Okay, so, I fixed my issue and it may help you as well.

I had cleaned out my USB drivers last week (several days before I had the problem).  For some reason, it must have reinstalled the wrong driver days later causing an issue.  If you use the default ASUS BT400 driver from their website it will not work with Dolphin.

In 2018 I had downloaded a driver for BCM20702A0 (the Broadcom chip used in the adapter). BTW_6.5.1.6930_win7_vista_x64

Windows tried to install the ASUS driver after I uninstalled it again tonight, and came up with an error "Can not install an older Bluetooth driver over a newer version", so I uninstalled it again and removed the driver from my computer (using the remove this software from my computer checkbox when removing the adapter from the device properties window), so now it is solely the BCM20702A0 driver, and it works again with Dolphin.  The Bluetooth icon is gone from the taskbar, and in the Devices and Printers window is shows as a weird USB dongle icon named BCM20702A0, but it now behaves as it did before.

Long story short, uninstall the adapter and replace the driver.  However, you may or may not be able to use it with other things aftwerwards.  Mine is used solely for Dolphin.
