Hi all,
I'm thinking about to buy a 2nd or 3rd wii mote controller. I searched on ebay and found a nice offer. http://cgi.ebay.de/CONTROLLER-REMOTE-NUNCHUK-NINTENDO-WII-KONSOLE-SCHWARZ-/360333186206?pt=PC_Viedeospielzubeh%C3%B6r&hash=item53e588149e

Is this an original one? And if it's not, does Dolphin support unoffical controller?

cheers

I'm not sure if that's an original controller but it should still work with dolphin regardless because all wiimotes connect to a wii in the same way, via a bluetooth connection and likewise they all connect to dolphin with a bluetooth connection. I have an unofficial wiimote and it still shows up as "Nintendo RVL-CNT-01" when i add it as a new bluetooth device using the ms stack and it works perfectly in dolphin.

I think it's an unoffial one. The Wii logo on the bottom isn't there.

I hope it's working on my machine. I also have the problem that my original controller only connects successfully when I skip the windows update and pair it.

Same with my 2 wiimotes, they are unofficial and don't have the wii logo. And what exactly do you mean by "skip the windows update"?

the un official wiimotes stay bluetooth visible for a shorter amount of time (some times genuine do too) so when u pair the wii mote up with dolphin, you have to click on the windows device driver finder and make it skip looking for drivers on windows update and use local drivers (saves time so the wiimote dosent stop flashing)

Checkout my latest project ( it is a program that downloads and compiles dolphin on mac and linux now): http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu-downloader (It's unofficial and maintained by me, not the dolphin dev team)

I'm very sure it's an unofficial. I thought about buying it as well...
but decided to get a real nintendo one (even if it's round twice as expensive).

But if you wanna get one (unofficial), I would prefer a buying inclusive the MotionPlus: like this
But before you doing that, think about the new WiiRemote+, which has it included!

I ordered the WiiRemote+ (for 42€, now 49€) in combination of the Nunchunk (for 14€, price stayed) some days ago.
You can see: the price is changing very fast, have a look after it... for example the american one is for 39$ really cheap at the moment ... while the nunchunk (18$) is similar to the german one and less price flexible.

Good luck!

I don't speak German but I can safely assume that Windows is updating the device drivers for your bluetooth adapter (assuming you're using a pc with a usb adapter). If this is what is happening and this is causing it to not work you should be able to disable this in the bluetooth device properties, or alternately you could unistall the driver and download the newest one manually so this update process doesn't occur. I found this step by step guide very helpful when I first connected my wiimotes to my pc - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLvaUKGhxLE. And as for motion plus, games like wii sports resort, red steel 2, virtua tennis 2009 and the new zelda - zelda skyward sword (coming out this year) all support motion plus. If you can get a good bundle deal on a wiimote nunchuck and motion plus then i think it would be worth getting a motion plus. I have one and it works great with the aforementioned games.

Of course, buy it! many future games and allready appeared good titles (Spacecowboy called, like RedSteel2, Zelda:SS...) need Motion+!
That's only ~10€ different, If you really want to be uptodate and playable at wii at all, you would probably regret it (at least later)...

Here you can find the list of games using it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_MotionPlus
