hi all,

new to dolphin and these boards, loving what i'm finding! i've only tried NSMB and it runs fine but just a tad slow. starts up at 60 fps, dips to 30 something, climbs a bit, back down, etc.

so, just curious if wii is usually playable at full speed or are kinks still being worked out? here are my system specs:

xp service pack 3, 32 bit
core 2 duo 8500, overclocked to 4gh
4 gb ram
ati radeon hd 4800

i do have mcafee and other processes running. curious if i should start killing stuff to try and get the frame rate solid or if 100% is unattainable on my system

You probably just haven't configured Dolphin properly.
Use Direct3D plugin, and enable EFB copy to texture
You should notice it running much faster then.

My hardware is similar to yours, E8600 overclocked to 3.66Ghz, HD4850, 4GB ram, Win7 32bit, and I can run Dolphin very well, yours should do better though, you've overclocked higher. Smile
I run Microsoft Security Essentials on my system for my Anti-virus, no slowdown here.

But still, you might notice occasional bits of slowdown, Dolphin just needs optimisation and further coding.
