Because of configs. It starts to get a bit frustrating, because people just join the forum and yell 'why doesn't game X work on my rig'. It's not that simple. Configuring dolphin properly is just as important. For example just having framelimit off and on can mean the difference between 15 fps and 60 fps in some games.

Yea thats true... But oh well I was like that till I got bored and start tweaking with the configs besides making post how to make this game run blah blah blah but people need look around first then ask questions second? Idk lack of sleep making me go lil crazy but maybe I should post my setting for him? :3

i think maybe you should make a thread with all the games you run full speed or near full speed and general settings for them...maybe it'll reduce the ''why x game don't work on my x pc???'' threads and that is quite nice. Smile

Hi everyone,

I have a media center AOpen EPC945-M8 with Pentium D930,

which graphics card "low profile" , do you recommend for this system?
That all the games from the Wii to work well and smoothly?

And do I need to replace a standard power supply?

Also, think about replace the CPU for some economic good.

you need to take out the pentium d if you want good and smooth gaming. i'm guessing the motherboard too, maybe not...varies if it supports the new cpu socket. about the gpu i think a Gforce 9800GT would be good or a Radeon equivalent to it...but dolphin isn't much gpu focused instead of cpu. so i think you should think about buying a phenom 2 x2 or an x3, you can find them about 100$, or if you're going intel...well,i dunno much about intel for good prices... IMO, no. Higher wattages are overrated for like 95% of systems. I measured the power consumption using highest details on crysis for 1 hour (which uses more resources than many dolphin games at once), and it peaked at around 410W using i7 950 processor clocked to 4.1ghz and gtx280 card.

The PSU is 600W but it doesn't go even near that. I fail to see the point for huge capacity power supplies unless you have multiple high-end graphics card in crossfire or sli mode.

Remember that the motherboard you currently use for Pentium D, cannot likely support even core 2 duo despite BIOS update. So you would need both a new motherboard and a new cpu if you wanted to upgrade.

Fortunately, if you want to go for a C2D or dualcore setup (not the same thing though similar), you can easily find such a motherboard and a processor like E6500 (or if you go for AMD, you can even get Athlon II X4 620 for under 100 bucks). Depends on what your budget for 'cheap' is.

Just don't buy a new processor without a new motherboard. It will sure fit in the socket but I can assure it will not boot. (Yes, I tried this on my old P4 rig with socket775 mobo, it will not even recognise an e5200 dual-core).

I've done some pretty thorough benchmarks with my friends and I am fairly convinced that intels core i3 5 series and core i5 6 series cpus are overall the best. Although this is mainly because dolphin only uses 2 cores and those dual core cpu's hit 4.8 GHz on air with almost no voltage increase.
