Why was" Motion+" & "IR Off" removed from the controller setup. It makes it so far for me impossible to play skyward sword with out setting up my controllers from my Wii to my PC.

I beat skyward sword with my Xbox 360 controller (3.5 Dolphin Ver.), it was difficult but doable, I actually liked the challenge. I mean I own a Wii and I have beaten the game on it as well, but I also enjoy playing it on the emulator, as it is handy at times when I have a break from other things I am doing.

I may be wrong, but with the new version 4.0.2 I am unable to make my Xbox 360 controller function.

on 3.5, my 360 controller still functions fine, I guess I will have to use 3.5 version so that I can actually do a full emulation of the game. ( for me if I use any part of my Wii to emulate, then I am not emulating )

I can see only one reason for removing this ability, I will not detail that, but it is Obvious I think. I find that a shame, sort of.

MotionPlus support was never part of mainline Dolphin in the first place. You were using one of JPeterson's MotionPlus builds, which are custom and not officially supported here in the forums.

As for why nobody's bothered to merge his code, it's kind of a mess and it'd probably need a partial rewrite due to all the progress that's happened since he last did anything. (Plus, it's obviously difficult to set up and use, thus we'd rather just have people use real remotes instead of letting them frustrate themselves or have them ask for help here.)

One other thing I noticed as I have multiple versions running, is that 4.0.2 has many more FPS hits in many of the game Cube titles, one I have noticed for sure is wind waker when using the camera. It seems to play much better on the older versions I have. ( however My older versions have john-peterson dirty builds added to them )
I am guessing that the Wonderful producers, ( I am not complaining ) Have been more interested in the Wii titles, and game play of those titles providing one is using the Wii controllers, than the older Game cube titles.

Ugh I'm so sick of this. There is no 4.2, it's 4.0.2. It's just 4.0, but the second (and last) crash fix release for 4.0, hence 4.0.2. Development versions are continuing as normal, and they will be the bases of either a 4.5 or 5.0 release. But with people going on saying "4.2!" because they are too freakin lazy to put in a zero, when version 4.5 or whatever comes out anyone that reads this looking back will thing there is a 4.1 and 4.3 and 4.4. UGH.

4.0.2. Just type it right.

My apologies, I suppose I was being lazy, as to the 4.0.2, however you did seem to know what I was referring to. I will try not to leave the zero out from now on.

But still your reply gave no answer, only condemnation. I personally think many threads would be much shorter to look through if people would only answer the questions rather than find some way to make the asking person stupid.

Performance does not increase or decrease specifically for GameCube or Wii titles – from the developers' perspectives, there's really not much difference (besides the obvious input stuff and the Wii-specific networking/Bluetooth/whole extra little ARM processor in there that Dolphin just HLEs to avoid any performance impact) as the vast majority of the CPU and GPU emulation core is used the same exact way for both consoles. I don't think I've even seen any side-choosing amongst the developers *or* users – if it runs in Dolphin, it's not a GameCube or Wii game, it's just a goddamn Dolphin game.

The specific performance decrease you're seeing in Wind Waker is likely just that the game now uses LLE by default, regardless of what you have set, which fixes numerous issues in the game (most importantly, the game occasionally hanging during certain events, e.g. walking through doors, cutscenes starting/ending, getting items from chests) but also requires quite a bit more CPU. You can force it to use HLE again, but as the guy who asked for the LLE-by-default thing in the first place, I obviously don't recommend it and I'm not gonna tell you how to do it. I'm so damn tired of people running into those HLE issues. Just overclock to get past any slowdowns.

I've personally never heard of an i5-2550 or 2550K, but it seems to only come in a "K" (unlocked-multiplier, e.g. overclockable) variant (searching ark.intel.com for it instantly redirects to i5-2550K), and your Z68 motherboard and water-cooling setup are likely to be perfectly fine with you overclocking to 4 GHz, at the very least. If you're worried about your Crossfire setup preventing you from overclocking, you'll probably be fine as Dolphin can only use one of the GPUs.

Also, MaJoR's rage over the version is certainly not unfounded – people keep fucking it up all over the place, and that *will* cause legitimate confusion if there's ever a 4.5. I hope we just go for 5.0 instead, but if we end up shooting for 4.5 I'm gonna have to burn down half the forums because of fuckers who think 4.1 and 4.2 exist.

Thx you, and I do understand the problem with My mistake as to the Version number ( that is why I apologized ) . I am very sorry. And I have repaired my Posts to reflect the right Version number.

You answered all my questions as to the slow down very well. Thx U very much.

*******Edited************

The performance issues are actually negligible for me, and not really and issue, I have no real reasons to ramp up my front side bus or multiplier at this time. It was just something that I had noticed, and imagined might impact some Users.

One other issue in "Wind Waker" that I have encountered is the graphics in the volcano type area's, that give the impression of heat distortion in the air are sort of oddly done, and do not seem to appear as in the original game.

"They are some what distracting actually" I did find some improvement by changing the screen ratio, but there distortion is still rather disturbing. It may be and AMD vid card related event, but thought it might be worth mentioning.
