Why only one directinput/xinput device per GameCube controller port?

That is my question. I have built an arcade cabinet with custom controllers; two UltraStik 360 and one I-PAC 2, so movements are controlled with the UltraStik 360 and buttons with the I-PAC.
In Dolphin, for GameCube controllers, only one directinput/xinput device can be used at the same time for every controller. In other emulators for other consoles I do not have this restriction. Why not to be abble to use any combination of devices in Dolphin? In reference to this, is there any plan to change this issue in a near future?

Thank you in advance for the responses.

Right click on the control you want to bind multiple controllers per control. You'll bring up an advanced UI to allow complex binding

Superb! Thank you very much. I got to configure my controls just like I wanted.
