Why is there no playable or workable directx plugin anymore? It's been that way since revision 3500 or something!!! I even test these revisions on a much higher specs desktop, so don't tell me it's my problem.HuhAngry

its because the devs stopped working on it in favor of the opengl plugin, which is more widely supported among operating systems

admins are currently looking for devs to continue development of the directx plugin

I hope that some one will work on the direct x plugin and soon, otherwise dolphin wouldn't feel the same.

Quite Frankly there is an outside source working on a Dx10 Plugin, but supposedly he's not a reliable foundation so don't expect a miracle.

Who is he?, I have no idea Sad I forgot where i heard this from so i have no source, Sorry.

what's wrong with just using the openGL plugin? its much more stable and faster, is there something you think directx can do that openGL cant? (besides lock out mac and linux users)

Beats me Dude, the only people requesting it are integrated users.
What they should do is take maters into their own hands & make their own chitty plugin istead of complaining. No offence.

Better yet buy a better unit, upgrade your GPU!

Please anything but integrated Chipsets:

Because a dx10 plugin would solve most graphical problems. the PS2 emulator got much better when they released the GSDX10 plugin.

as of now, OpenGL seem to have a lot of graphical bugs that are hard to fix.

DX10 is just an energy-saving version of DX9. DX10 produces less heat and consumes less power than DX9, but theres no real performance improvement.

No, SantaC is right. DX10 makes the PS2 emulator a lot faster. It gives 50-60 fps for heavy games like Xenosaga series, while it's only 20 fps when using DX9. So it might be a good idea to see directx plugin progression for Dolphin.

so that just means their old dx9 plugin was a crappy hackjob and they spent a lot of time to make a properly working dx10 one. directx has NO inherant advantages over openGL a well made mature plugin will perform similarly on both platforms. not mentioning that openGL is much more flexible (and well... open), most cards benchmark near the same in openGL and directx, many times with a slight edge to openGL (depending on drivers and card)
