So I'm aware of compatibility between Dolphin and VBA-M, but why doesn't a physical GBA with a link cable work? I've read before that it has something to do with tight timing or something, but I'm guessing that Dolphin now has the power to support something like that, especially with the Wii U GameCube adapter.
If there's now a way to support it, how hard would that be to implement? I'm not the guy to do it, but I'm wondering if it's a simple thing to add in to Dolphin.

There is no adapter that supports this as far as I know. That alone makes implementing it possible. (No, the Wii U GameCube adapter doesn't support GBAs.)

OK, I can see that making sense. Thanks anyway.

Would be indeed a nice hardware project to build this adapter, and to get it working in dolphin. I don't fear timing Wink

I'm wondering if a homemade adapter would be possible. Looking inside the end of my cable that plugs into the GameCube, it seems that there are only three pins. Presumably, that's in, out, and ground. Maybe even someone like me could manage that.

If it were that easy then existing adapters would already work.

None of the adapters support serial connections.

It would be interesting doing some kind of reverse engineering into the Wii U GC Adapter's firmware to make it compatible with the serial interface needed. We just need to find someone wiling to do that Tongue
