Well I don't think that will happen mainly because the more the team keeps working on Dolphin the more stable and accurate the emulation gets meaning it will require more CPU power.
If you use older versions of Dolphin you'll notice how "fast" things are but it has less stability and accuracy. And with newer releases it gets slower and slower but accuracy and stability increases.

I don't see how your i7 930 would be touchy with overclocking when I had a Core 2 Duo E7400 2,8GHz CPU OC'ed to 3,6GHz back in 2009.
Man that thing was like a rocket back then.

As for overclocking in general there is tons and I mean tons of guides out there how to OC your specific CPU.
Just take the leap and venture to the land of OC'ing

I wouldn't say that dolphin is more accurate .. at least not for all those mario games which i only play .. today i played mario party 9 with my friend and it was terrible; music issues all the time, constantly wii mote-disconnecting , slowdowns and other glitches ..
usually i play it with r6546 but today i wanted to test it with that r3.0-784 .. r6546 has great speed and is much more accurate but it seems to clear the cachee on restart or how it is called, so the game laggs always for a few seconds when something new is appearing in the game ..
I guess that r3.0-784 only helps me with mario galaxy 2, what's actually quiet a mess though, cauze of all these audio bugs ..

Well Mario Party 9 is still pretty young as a Wii game so I'm not surprised if it suffers from various technical issues. You have to give things some time, boy you wouldn't believe some of the games I have had problems with the last couple of years. Today they work really good and suffers from little to none issues. Using LLE also helps a lot especially with sound related issues.

And you have to do some of the work to, and that is by OC'ing your CPU.

As accuracy improves, the emulator gets slower, all we have to do is make sure we have the best computer parts as at then so as to counter the slowness.

Because your PC didn't run it at fullspeed . Adding more wiimote only make the game run slower , multi-player need more CPU power

I don't have this problem with Mario Party 9 ( 3 wiimotes ) . It's your USB BT dongle or BT driver issues
Quote:mario galaxy 2
need LLE backend for the best audio output , your CPU is not fast enough to handle SMG + LLE though

Exactly, so by the end of the 5.0 release we need at least 4,5GHz to run the games 100% with LLE Smile

Nah just kidding, but yeah it's the same with all other emulators too.
Just take a look at higan, formerly known as bsnes. It began as a SNES emu but have grown to a multi emulation system emulator. And it's requirements are SICK to say at least. Some of my SNES games even slow down on my system but accuracy and stability is out of this world.

The only reason why I play with dolphin is that 640p sucks .. but I better get my wii back, because i won't by a 600€ cpu just so that dolphin runs everything at full speed ..

and stop with that overclocking shit, as i said, i want to keep my cpu alive as long as i can :/

What are the worst thing that could happen if you OC? Not much since the computer usually deals with things quite good and you can always revert it at any time.
With good cooling and good homework a solid OC can be obtainable. You're worried that you will decrease the life of your CPU which is understandable but the Core 2 Duo I had back 2009 OC'ed to 3,6GHz is still alive and kicking today.

It's like having a Porsche and driving legally all the time never knowing how much fun I could have if I did kick-down once in a while.

It's your choice. You asked for a solution. You got the solution.
Some games will work fine with your system but you have to accept that other games won't, or will work but not full speed, or with sound issues since you can't use LLE

It's almost 4 years since i got my OCed desktop up and running ( 2.6GHz -> 3.6GHz)
I gave it to my little sister . It's still working right now

Nope , either i5 2500k @ 4.5GHz or i5 3570k @ 4.2GHz is good enough and they cost less than 200€ for each of them
Without overclocking , even if you spent 1000€ for a single CPU , it wouldn't run most games fullspeed with LLE

Btw, you can try to enable "Alternate Wiimote Timing" , it might fix your wiimot disconnecting issues
