Why is my nunchuck recognised by some games, but not others?

As an example, if I boot up Wii Sports & Resort, my nunchuck isn't recognised by the boxing game in Wii Sports. If I switch over to Resort, it is immediately picked up by the archery game.

I'm using the latest dev build of Dolphin, and an official Wiimote and nunchuck, with a Dolphin Bar. Batteries in the Wiimote are brand new, I've reset and re-synced multiple times, and tried a different nunchuck.

Other games I've tested don't detect the nunchuck either - Mario Galaxy 2, Punch Out, and others.

Would really appreciate any help, it's driving me crazy!

Have you tried to unplug and replug the Nunchuk when the game complains that no Nunchuk was detected?

Thanks for replying. Yes, I've tried that, and everything else I can think of. I've tested multiple other games, and so far only Wii Sports Resort has recognised it.
