500k installs in 3-4 years (roughly 150k per year) sounds impressive, until you compare it to 1.5 billion sales in one year for all android devices! So epsxe's annual installs are only one ten-thousandth (0.0001) the number of new devices per year. Emulation on Android is still extremely niche.
...of course emulation in general is pretty niche, but still, perspective helps!
