You guys are missing one very important thing in this.. Yes directx is fast but Open Gl works on linux, so if they dumped opengl they would for the most part be dumping all linux users.

Well nobody said to dump it, OP just asked why its inferior Wink I would personally leave its development to linux devs only, together with linux version of Dolphin.
EDIT: ah, didn't noticed his post Wink

But PCSX2 project is also much bigger and complex to emulate, must have tons of plugins and official BIOS of ps2 just to run a game at all, plus it has maybe 10-20x more coders some of which almost full-time despite having no salary.

It will be long time before dolphin has dx10 support, because it's mostly coded by casual hobbyists plus the active admins if I remember correct. Still they are doing a very nice job, hopefully we can have dx10 some day.
