You guys are missing one very important thing in this.. Yes directx is fast but Open Gl works on linux, so if they dumped opengl they would for the most part be dumping all linux users.

Well nobody said to dump it, OP just asked why its inferior I would personally leave its development to linux devs only, together with linux version of Dolphin.
