Hello guys, im desperate with this problem because I know is not a hardware problem. A while back i saw on youtube a video of a guy that has my same laptop (just a different on the procesor, he has i5 i have i7), he runs the last zelda with no problems.

I tried every possible configuration on Dolphin but with no success. At the end i have the same problem with all the games i have, some times it goes very well (like 30fps 100% speed) even some times i have to put the Limit FPS because even Zelda Skyward can go up to 150%!!!. But after a while playing the games becomes unplayable, the velocity drops and some times also the fps.

So why? why some times the game goes wonderfall and some times not? i was checking my computer's process to find if other programs are relenting my pc and nothing comes out, but i saw something interesting, look at this:

Why my pc procesor is at 30% ??! I use more cpu opening google! And this is constand, even when the game goes fast the cpu is always at the same rate i even have alot of ram free, but as you can see the games goes at 26%....

So, i think is something that is not well configured on my pc regarding dolphin. If you check my pc specs you will see i have a decent laptop, i even play Crysis 2 at full settings!

Thanks for any help you can offer me!

Your laptop is overheating. Don't play on a bed, and pick up a laptop cooler with fans. Your CPU is at such a low usage because it is quad core and Dolphin only uses 2 cores. No one cares about Crysis 2, its a PC game that uses 4 core and isn't as heavy on the CPU as Dolphin. Also, always play plugged into to a charger.

3 reasons :
_Overheating . Run realtemp and dolphin at the same time and see the CPU clock speed :
+Clockspeed > 2700Mhz (2.7ghz) : it's fine
+Clockspeed < 2700Mhz : CPU throttling because of overheating

_Dolphin not use Nvidia GT 540M or battery settings not set to high perfomance mode

Actually it is. To make a statement like that you should probably provide some evidence as to why you have ruled out hardware issues.

Quote: A while back i saw on youtube a video of a guy that has my same laptop (just a different on the procesor, he has i5 i have i7), he runs the last zelda with no problems.

And what does zelda have to do with smg?

Also the cpu is the single most important component in determining the performance of the game. So saying "just a different processor" is like saying "just a different computer".

First of all games don't have a velocity, but they do have a gamespeed so I'm sure that's what you meant.

If the speed suddenly drops that could be because you suddenly entered a more demanding are or because your processor is overheating. Check your cpu temperatures while running dolphin with coretemp or realtemp in order to rule out overheating.

Quote:Why my pc procesor is at 30%

Because your cpu has 8 hardware threads and dolphin uses 2 hardware threads at any one time, which is 25% of the total number of available threads.

Quote:I use more cpu opening google!

You can't "open google", google is a company not a program. You can however open a web browser to browse google.com which is probably what you meant to say. Also I call bs on that. You should not be seeing high cpu utilization from browsing the web.

Quote:And this is constand, even when the game goes fast the cpu is always at the same rate i even have alot of ram free, but as you can see the games goes at 26%....

Well obviously.

Applications use whatever memory they need. Having more ram won't automatically mean the application should be using more ram.
The same is true of hardware threads. The application is not going to use 8 threads when it is programmed to use 2.

Crysis 2 is a PC game, dolphin is an emulator. You can't compare them, they are two totally different types of applications.
