I'm just curious because it has the same Snapdragon 835 chipset as the Galaxy S8.
Anyone want to enlighten me?

i believe xiaomi mi6 is rather have the killer spec (I bought it anyway) bigger clock (2.45ghz vs s8 & op5 @2.35ghz).
the performance is superb and actually in my country Xiaomi is always cheaper than OP. 06-13-2017, 07:30 AM
It's cheaper and they let they don't have the same thermal throttling, allowing Dolphin to not slow down while letting the device get hotter.
But the Oneplus 5 will probably be more expensive than previous devices, making it less of a good deal. But yeah, main reason is price, but on that front the Xiaomi Mi 6 is the best affordable device to get, although it lacks a headphone jack. 06-13-2017, 08:05 AM
Xiaomi Mi6 is a poor choice because MIUI caps performance. My Redmi note 4 with dual a72's cannot run dolphin because MIUI refuses to even use the big cores (when on other MTK MT6797 devices the 2 cores work). OP5 definitely seems like a more promising option.

you can play for long long time. Tested* 06-13-2017, 10:44 AM
What about Zuk Z2? I'm looking for this phone, half price of Mi6 and the performance is not too far. Does someone has this phone?

OP5 definitely seems like a more promising option. if you know MIUI long enough (I even installed it on my huawei and motorola), it's not the capped performance but the battery & default RAM management. While the gaming performance itself is pretty much the same, to lets say, LOS or AOSP based rom. What lacks in MIUI is multitasking but hey 6gb RAM is very good at running MIUI. It even runs dolphin better than s8 (both exynos & sd835 variant). OP5 will be priced way higher than the mi6 with the design of oppo r11/ip7+ with starting price at more than 500 USD for a budget flagship... is a big no. have you turned on the performance mode on your MTK's Redmi? my advice... dont buy redmi's with MTK, it's a known problem & even xiaomi addressed this issue by always releasing the SD variant eventually. ZUK Z2 is sd820 like mi5, right? in my opinion just go for sd835... seriously major improvement and can be seen when playing dolphin. But Mi6 costs 2x more, I really would love to get one. I'm gonna buy it from sellers in my country, it's even more expensive, I don't want to import from China because I'll have to wait nearly 2 months to arrive here. Technically SD 835 is 20% better than SD 820 in CPU performance, and 30% in GPU performance. My hope for Snapdragon 820 is the Vulkan, when it get optimized drivers and the emulator get more mature, it might run better than Mi6 runs currently with OpenGL, since Vulkan may reduce the CPU usage by the half compared to OpenGL, at least that was the result when I tested PPSSPP on my PC. For now I just want to test and see the evolution of emulator.
