I've been using Dolphin for a long time and have never had issues with the updater, but trying to update from version 5.0-17197 got hit with a flag from Windows Defender and it deleted the updater! Whats the deal?
Why am I getting a malware alert with the updater?

Yes, that text was written in 2019, but you're not the only person who started getting problems recently, and the causes mentioned in the text still apply.

Fair enough. I tried the update (auto-update) again today and it downloaded and installled without issue. No triggers. So either the package was changed, or the virus definitions (MS Defender here) changed, as there were no changes on my part. 08-24-2022, 07:36 AM
When updates are made, the executable slightly changes so their "good definition" for the updater becomes outdated, and the machine learning again takes precedence until a person looks it over and deems that it's not malware.
