I believe the filed in box means default on. Though I tend to feel like checking it to be sure sometimes.

There are like 3 styles of the boxes.
Default on
checked
unchecked

I'm pointing out that the on by default style is the same as checked, just that it was defaulted to be on.

Try looking for something else that may be wrong. More specifically, something said in one or more posts before that one.
