Probably due to Turbo Boost and less than adequate cooling. You can adjust Turbo Boost to prevent this or make some cooling enhancements after arrival. I've swapped the thermal paste/pad on almost every laptop I've owned to get superior CPU cooling. If the GPU overheats, that could be a problem.
