Acer beat Asus in both price and performance (i5 @ 2.93 vs i3 @ 2.53)
Acer battery is made in Japan
Btw i play dolphin daily on my Acer , no heat issues(under 74C when running dolphin 4 hours) ,most game run at decent FPS

Just a word of warning: Acer has horrible, horrible customer support.

No idea about Asus, though. Could be just as bad.

If your laptop is perfect from day one and never develops any problems, of course, it doesn't really matter what the support is like. And odds are that will be the case. But it wasn't for me.
Specs:
Intel Core i5 M460 @2.53GHz
8GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 5470
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Never need any support or warranty, just replace the HDD with Intel SSD 40Gb for 94$ (HDD on laptop is easy to break) then convert HDD to external HDD
I've already ordered a new SSD

@regnad
