From looking in the threads the only chip capable seems to be the nvidia k1 used in the Nexus 9 and nvidia shield. It looks like the snapdragon 805 can run it but not with a good fps. Does this mean the snapdragon 810 should be decent for stuff like super mario sunshine or do we have to wait longer?

Even the Tegra K1 isn't really "decent" for games like SMS. We're all just sitting tight waiting for the Nvidia Denver chipset to come out. THEN we should see 1to1 performance with a real Gamecube and probably also with the Wii, though some games still might have slow points.

And I think you mean to ask with games run "well", not "good" just sayin

I haven't been to school in 2 weeks bro lol. Anyway any info on when the Denver comes out? Knowing nvidia, it isn't likely to be in a phone huh :/

Denver is used in the Nexus 9 which has been out for around 7 weeks now.

On the latest dev build with the note 4 i manage 18 - 24 fps with Super Mario Sunshine in game which looks smooth and is definitely playable if only for this particular game.

I have not had the time to run or test anything else because the visuals are absolutely horrid and almost completely unusable - menus are not visible most of the time

Once the 5.0 update comes out we should see more improved visuals but likely with a drop in performance.

Why would you expect a drop in performance?

Wow I totally missed that! Thanks for the headsup

Edit: I am saddened by this performance (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szOKA62x7v4) I was hoping for something better :/

I assumed that since the visuals are so distorted the adreno card has to work less as its not rendering the entire scene due to the artifacts and glitches.

If this has no affect on performance then that would be great but I know that you know much more than i do.

The Tegra X1 is what you should be looking forward to. It beats the A8x while having lower power consumption at the same node. The Tegra X1 may be able to be put in Phablet form factors.
