Where is DirectX?

I just installed Dolphin on my computer (Windows 7 32-bit). The OpenGL plugin is available, and games run properly, but the FPS is a bit lower than I would like. I want to use the Direct3D plugin, but it's not available in the dropdown list. Since I'm running Windows 7, DirectX 11 is installed by default. I noticed that the plugins folder contains a plugin for DirectX 9. How can I use the plugin? Do I have to get a new one?

(Sorry if this is a dumb question)

Thanks! That worked.

Now, is there a frame skipper I could use to get higher frame rates?

Try turning on EFB copy to Texture for a speed boost.
Frame skipping is in the menu Emulation -> Frame Skipping.

Thank... you... SO MUCH! That was exactly the speed boost I needed! Now the emulator works perfectly.

It's time for some serious nostalgia.
