Well, it CAN run full speed with the older builds, but like you said, it is missing the sound improvements that come with AX-HLE. It is a noticeable difference--with the older builds, as I noted above, many of the sounds, like music, say, are shifted to the left channel, but AX-HLE fixed that. It's too bad I can't run the AX-HLE builds well on my "crappy" computer. Oh well. I guess I needed an excuse to upgrade anyway ...
