Where Can I Find SVN 4771 --Best Build for Baldur's Gate?

Question
I tried the latest edition of Dolphin with Baldur's Gate and found it unplayable.

Then I saw this youtube video here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdK-5mGZcgU

The guy in that video is running Baldur's Gate on SVN 4771 at what looks to be perfect or near perfect speed.

I went looking for that build and could find no English versions anywhere.

So instead I tried an older version of Dolphin that was available: 3.0.

And Baldur's Gate does indeed run much faster on that version than it does on 4.0 ... but still not quite as fast as the version in the youtube video.

I love Dolphin, I think it is a great program, but strictly in terms of playing this one game, I would like to try the older version 4771.

Anyone know where I could find it?

What I have here is a compilation of some of the Dolphin builds I have come across over time. The list is quite big and is probably all anyone will ever need, but is not complete.

The list includes only Windows x64 builds and will not have any other builds of any kind other than those.

Enjoy and take what you need: Dolphin old build downloads

I also want to add that there is nothing added to these builds. No branches, patches or any alterations. These are just the master or main builds that were committed at the time.

Just to add further detail, no support means dealing with any issues you get on your own. If the game freezes or crashes on your own. And YouTube videos are terrible ways to judge whether old Dolphin builds will run fine our not for a number of reasons. That said, you're free to use whatever build floats your boat.

Should also be noted that the Git repo contains every SVN commit, so users who compile from source can get any build they want more or less.

Hey, thanks so much!

I'm happy to report that 4771, when configured, is maybe twice as fast as the latest public build for Baldur's Gate. The biggest thing is sound: it stutters badly with this game in the latest public release, no matter what settings I try. With 3.0 and below the sound is perfect. 3.0 is still a little slow visually, almost Matrix like (I actually kind of like the effect) while 4771 is full speed, yet not as smooth as 3.0 ... a little jerky here and there.

I guess my main point is: Anyone wanting to play Baldur's on Dolphin would be smart to look at older builds ...

Another trade off: on older builds the sound is noticeably louder in the left channel than it is in the right channel. No idea why, but the greatly improved speed is still worth it.

Thanks again, Zee530 and Shonumi!

Correction: anyone with crap computers should look to older builds. Anyone with decent computers should use the latest builds, because they fix tons of bugs and problems that exist in old builds like that one.

I have no doubt that newer builds offer tremendous improvements for most games over older builds.

But not, in my experience, for Baldur's Gate.

Your CPU is too weak for this demanding game. Above all with recent builds. That's why the game looks unplayable to you. I can run this game flawlessly with recent versions of the emulator.

The sound looks crappy because you can't run the game full-speed. That's needed to get the sound to work properly with recent builds (new AX-HLE). That wasn't needed with the old build you're using.

Btw you won't be able to run this game full-speed even with such old builds. I've already mentioned it but this game is particularly demanding. The game will be playable though

Well, it CAN run full speed with the older builds, but like you said, it is missing the sound improvements that come with AX-HLE. It is a noticeable difference--with the older builds, as I noted above, many of the sounds, like music, say, are shifted to the left channel, but AX-HLE fixed that. It's too bad I can't run the AX-HLE builds well on my "crappy" computer. Oh well. I guess I needed an excuse to upgrade anyway ...

I got it playable with 4.0!

Switching to OpenAL made a BIG difference. Not full speed, but fast enough to be enjoyable, especially with the improved sound.
