I've read from one of the Dolphin developers themselves on Reddit that they were going to release a Dolphin VR version once OpenXR is out. Now it's out, and I wonder if it's in the works?
When will Dolphin VR OpenXR be released?

I haven't heard anything about that lmao.
Dunno if anybody's working on VR support right now. So not anytime soon. Sorry. 09-16-2019, 07:35 PM
I found it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/7...context=10
You guys have been talking about this many times in different occasions. Would be nice to hear from them again now that OpenXR has been released.
There is nobody actively working on it right now as far as I know. It's something that we think would be nice to add to Dolphin, but right now we can't promise anything regarding when or if it actually will happen.
Also, I don't know who that CrossVR user is. If they're contributing to Dolphin, they must be using a different name on here. (Possibly Armada?) 09-16-2019, 07:58 PM
I seriously hope it will be taken in to consideration again, because playing TP, WW and Metroid Prime series in VR is one of the best experiences I've ever had, and it is almost as if they are made for VR.

CrossVR is Armada.
My guess is that he's probably either busy or is doing some experimentation locally that's not yet ready for the public to test.

Carl Kenner popped up in GitHub not too long ago as well, and said something alluding to him possibly returning to work on his VR fork of Dolphin. Fingers crossed.

Armada posted that over a year ago.
Haven't heard anything from them since. Anyways, don't get your hopes up. 09-25-2019, 09:22 AM
I'm currently hacking OpenXR into Dolphin. I hope to have something semi-usable maybe within a week.
Headset support for OpenXR is limited right now. Good luck having hardware that will actually be able to test it. |
