Don't take the others too seriously. It's kind of crappy to start shaming for a purchase that's already been made. If the machine runs everything fine for your taste, that's what matters.

The plan to sell it down the road for a decent price is a good one, just remember to keep it in a good condition, both in terms of the outside as well as the HD and OS. If you can get the 500$ out of it in another year or two, then I'd recommend building a machine for around 1000$, which is the current sweet spot.

No return policy except for defective.

Where did you buy this from? That's a really poor customer experience.
Well, hope you enjoy the system. Most games should run fine. Try out Twilight Princess with the speed patch on the latest dev builds and see how it runs.

Meh. OP came to us asking for help because they didn't know what they were doing. Alright. We help them. OP then proceeds to ignore our help, demonstrates that they really don't know what they're doing. Yeah. I'm going to laugh a bit.

Am I a jerk? Probably.

Will OP listen to help that *they specifically asked for* next time? Hopefully.

haha, that's ok, I can take it.

I must admit that my move might not have been the best.

One of the reason behind the move is that I am in Canada, and the build proposed would have been way higher in CAD and it was a bit out of budget.

I didn't think that the CPU had a big impact in Dolphin, I thought the GPU would be the most important thing, and as I've seen a lot of 750ti perform really well on Dolphin (Youtube), I thought it was a "smart" move.

I might send an email to ASUS to see if they can provide me with a "open box special return autorisation".

I do certainly feel a bit shamefull by my move...

If you wanna laugh even more, I must admit that I work in IT for more than 15 years, but I don't work with hardware much and I'm a bit outdated on that field... I'm a good IT guy tho, I swear ! Tongue

I'm a bit impulsive and when I saw that i7 with 750ti, I though, "ho, that seems like a good deal"... but now, I think "ho, I feel retarded... hahaha"

I'm not calling anyone a jerk. I'm just saying that if someone bought a computer and said that they're happy about how it performed, I wouldn't go there and say "you're wrong for liking it, you should've gone for what I suggested" even though it probably would've been objectively a bit better. I know you didn't say anything close to that and I know you all are just trying to help, but that's just the impression I got from the messages.

As for OP, yes they should've probably investigated how Dolphin works beforehand, but hey, I guess you can do it afterwards too :p
