Right now, I have the Intel GMA Series. According to the error message from Dolphin I'm getting, this GPU is integrated, which means it cannot "compile pixel shader". Where can I get a GPU that is not integrated? More specifically, which GPUs are compatible with Dolphin? Are they free or do I need to buy one?
I don't know a great deal about computers, so I'll post what specs I can figure out:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E4500 @2.20GHz 2.20 GHz
RAM: 2.00 GB
GPU: Intel GMA Series
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
Dolphin Version: 3.0-307
The game I am trying to play is Harvest Moon: Animal Parade. It runs through the opening segment smoothly, allows me to input my name, birthday, etc. But when the screen whites out to go to the next scene, this is where the error message pops up.
I tried to be as thorough as possible. If there's any crucial information I'm leaving out or a certain way to play without getting a new GPU, let me know. Any solution is welcome -- I'm just assuming by what the error is telling me that I'll need to get a different GPU.
This is the error message I am getting:
Failed to compile pixel shader!
This usually happens when trying to use Dolphin with an outdated GPU or integrated GPU like the Intel GMA series.
If you're sure this is Dolphin's error anyway, post the contents of ./User/Dump/bad_ps)0000.txt along with this error message at the forums.
Debug info (ps_2_0):
C:\Games\dolphin\memory(13,6): eror X5608: Compiled shader code uses too many arithmetic instruction slots (65). Max. allowed by the target (ps_2_0) is 64.
