I've been personally using the sword and shield and although it has a very high mobility rate it's just TOO DAMN WEAK, making monsters like royal ludroth take forever to kill. I've also tried the hammer but the attacks are very slow making you take lots of hits from faster enemies during your weapon recovery time. What weapon do you use and why?

I recall using the long sword ever since you unlock it. But before you unlock that, I think I went with lance. Both are good.

The long sword is a pretty balanced weapon.
It's reasonably strong and has a fast speed. Additionally, it possesses the "Spirit Blade" ability which increases your attack power each time you complete the combo.
Its range is pretty wide, especially when you use the Spirit combo.
The later weapons have pretty good (if not nearly the best) elemental attack power in the game.

The lance is also an amazing weapon. It does take more practice than the long sword though since you'll be mostly stationary when you swing the lance.
Timing is of essence here, if you master it you can poke all the bosses to death without getting into too much trouble.
Another great advantage it brings is the ability to block.

Try them both out.

Btw , The bow weapon in Toukiden is much stronger if you pair it with magic spell type of soul (You aim and shoot certain point in monster's body then you will be able to shoot magic bullet or send magic trap or break that point)
Edit : Sorry , i thought all Monster Hunter Series , not Monster Hunter Tri .

I see the long sword has a really good range and allows for fast manouvering, maybe I'll get that one when I unlock it Tongue, what about the switch-axe?

That's ok as long as you can build an English sentence which I/anyone could build into a proper sentence.
As for modifying it. I have no idea either, but if a (potential) translation project of Toukiden is the goal, then we can probably get some support for it.

The switch-axe requires a decent amount of skill since you'll have to master both modes to be effective. If you like variety then you'll like using it.
Me? I prefer the flashy combos the long sword has.

@Linker357 Sorry this is off topic but ...
@Garteal Anyway , i tried to ask chinese hackers (who successfully translated a Jap PC game to chinese 100%) but no reply . They must have some secret tools to assist them because there is no way to translate a game in short period of time . It seems hex editor is the only method :/
I could make a simple guide though

Apologies again Linker. Admin-kun takes the full responsibility for this. Tongue

Team Maverick has successfully translated the important text from Monster Hunter Portable 3rd from Japanese to English using prxpatch developed by CodeStation. I wonder if we can use the same methods they used?

Hahaha don't worry, in fact, I don't know Japanese but if you could give me a general idea of what they are saying I could also help with the translation Smile
