I'm running the following hardware:

Core 2 duo e6540 @ 2.4 ghz
Geforce gts 250
Nforce 780i mobo

Also, would I possibly benefit from overclocking? I know dolphin only uses 2 cores, so a quad core setup would be overkill. But then, I wonder if a new CPU/ mobo is needed to deal with bottlenecks.

Advice please! Smile

you would benefit greatly from overclocking. replacing the cpu would be the first upgrade id make.

The cheap method: Get a good air cooler and OC to 3.2GHz (should cost $40-60)

The expensive (but much better) method: Upgrade to a P67 + i5 2500k + 8GB ddr3 1600 MHz ram + aftermarket air cooler and OC to 4.2GHz (should cost about $500)

Thumbs up there, if you were ever to get a CPU cooler, that would surely be the one to get!
