I'm getting sick of only emulating the Wii, I'm thinking of emulating another platform, but I can't decide which. The genesis has the sonic series, snes has Yoshi's island, psx has a lot of RPGs, and N64 has conker's bad fur day and banjo kazooie. Which one would you guys emulate besides Wii?

Why not all of them?

I grew up with an SNES so I have to admit I'm a bit bias towards it but that's what I would pick if I had to choose just one. Either than or the N64.

Play what you want. As NV asked, why not all of them? It's not even like you couldn't physically play them all at the same time (just not well). Personally, I'm heavily biased toward RPGs, so that means the SNES, PSX, GBA, DS, PS2, and PSP (yeah, that's basically 3/4 of all the systems I've ever owned), but I play whatever games I have that I feel like playing. Just yesterday, my and my sister were playing Kirby Super Star together, later I played KH2, and I spent an hour playing Advance Wars right after that (was up till 5 AM last night :| ) If you like a game, why not emulate it?

Here's a list of emulators and plugins that I once used, they're pretty accurate too.

Nintendo: puNES v0.68
http://tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources/NESAccuracyTests.html - 92.3% accuracy grade. You probably won't find a better and more accurate NES emulator then puNES. It's godlike and I was so glad when I left Jnes for good. puNES also plays Famicom Disc System games without a hitch.

Game Boy & Game Boy Color: Gambatte 2.1
http://tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources/GBAccuracyTests.html 89.4% accuracy grade. Same here, you probably won't find a better and more accurate GB & GBC emulator then Gambatte + there's custom made color palettes for many of the old popular titles (Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, Kid Icarus, Metroid, Mega Man, Wario Land, Kirby etc. etc.) that adds a great feeling to the old monochrome Game Boy games, almost playing them like full-fledged Game Boy Color titles.

Game Boy Advance: Visual Boy Advance 1.8.0 Beta3
Used the release for over 8 years and played all of my GB and GBC games on it too until I switched to Gambatte. However I kept Visual Boy Advance for the GBA games since it's the best GBA emulator even today. Not sure if it's accurate enough but there ain't much alternatives too choose from more then maybe NO$GBA and VBA-M which is a fork of the original VBA. I don't like either VBA-M or NO$GBA but it's a personal preference.

Super Nintendo: bsnes v.070
I have mainly used Snes9X in the past to play my Super Nintendo/Famicom games on but bsnes is out of this world literally. There are newer releases of bsnes of course under the name higan but it has become more of an multi-system emulator and chore to use then anything else these days so bsnes v0.70 was the absolute best version that I used and it's super accurate.

Nintendo DS: DeSmuME 0.9.9
Pretty simple, NO$GBA which you needed NO$Zoomer to play DS games properly is 100x times less accurate compared to DeSmuME which emulates DS games like a champ without the need of 3rd party software.

Nintendo 64: Project64 1.6
I know that there are new releases of Project64, but for me it was not a stable relationship at all. Project64 1.6 combined with the plugins below is all you really need and Project64 1.6 is a release I personally used since 2005 so I think over 8 years count for something.

Nintendo 64 Plugins: Glide64_Final from May 19th 2012 & Azimer HLE Audio v0.60 WIP 2 & Nrage Input v2.3c

Virtual Boy: VBjin-ovr 1.0
Not many kids know about the Virtual Boy these days. Well if you're a "senior" and played Virtual Boy Wario Land, you probably played the best game in the series and for the Virtual Boy.

PC-Engine: MagicEngine 1.1.3
Probably the best PC-Engine/TurboGrafx-16 emulator to date despite that the current release is from 2008. If you're a hardcore Castlevania fan then you probably know that it's mainly used for the PC-Engine game Akumajou Dracula X: Chi no Rondo, a game which was released 1994 only in Japan. Other then that I can't say MagicEngine is used for much.

Sega Genesis: Kega Fusion 3.64
Steve Snake is a god and this emulator shows why. Never have Sega Genesis games looked, played or been more accurate on the PC.

Sega Saturn: SSF 0.12 beta R4
Sega Saturn didn't have many good games, at least not released in Europe and America. But there's some Japanese treasures that should be mentioned. Lunar Magic School, a spin-off game from the RPG Lunar series (Lunar Silver Star Story and Lunar Eternal Blue) and Akumajou Dracula X: Gekka no Yasoukyoku, a port of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night released in 1998 only for Japanese audience which plays perfect BTW in SSF.

Sony PlayStation: ePSXe 1.8.0 & XEBRA 110425
Take your pick really, ePSXe is more user friendly and XEBRA is more accurate. I loved them both.

Plugins for ePSXe: edgbla's gpuBladeSoft v1.42a
A very accurate GPU plugin to use with ePSXe, the picture quality is almost identical to the real deal.

Sony PlayStation 2: PCSX2 1.0.0
Not really much to say, compatibility and accuracy is fairly high.

Misc: ScummVM 1.6.0
Only used it for The Curse of Monkey Island game.

Of course this is just scratching the surface and there are hundreds of emulators out there in existence.
For me accuracy and stability have played the most important role when I have selected emulators for the systems I have. Accuracy does matter! And playing with original controllers for each of the systems have helped to get an even more authentic feeling as well.

I can buy that, I too don't play much games these days but I know the emulators I used to play them on like the back of my own two hands so it was only fair to mention them.

@Duke Nukem I see some of the stuff you listed came out after you stoped doing stuff like this Tongue

Also have you not tried nestopia? I'd guess it is more accurate then puNES since it is cycle-accurate
