what major changes happened to dolphin since 2018?

I haven't used dolphin in a very long time and I just wanna know what major changes happened to it.

Mostly bug fixes(like the blurry box bug in Mario Kart Wii) , emulation accuracy improvements and full Wii motion control support. It's a very polished and refined app now.

Didn't the emulator got slower or something? Also can you play wii games online using just your phone?

It only seems "slower" because less accurate and sometimes game breaking hacks have been dropped. If you have a powerful device with good video drivers(Snapdragon 845 or better, Snapdragon 660 or better), you'll be able to play a good number of Gamecube and Wii games. I'm not sure if online play is supported or not.

If either the game's official servers are still up or someone has set up third-party servers for the game, then yes. But the initial setup might require you to use a computer.

Dolphin's netplay feature currently isn't supported on Android.
