Yes-but if I did not get the console in the first place to save cost-relying only on the emulator, surely that is something else then?

It's common sense that if you own the consoles and the games and rip the bios and games all by yourself then it shouldn't be considered to be illegal to play them on a emulator.
You own a license and therefor is entitled to use it in an emulator which is a really good thing because if you collecting games you're practically eat the cookie and have it left keeping the collection in good condition.

People who think everything is free and download both emulators, bios and the games I don't really care much for honestly.

To all the freeloaders and moochers out there all I have to say is GET A JOB and PAY for the stuff.
Millions of us working everyday earning our stuff legally, take the step, apply for a job and buy your games, trust me it's as easy as clicking the download button on a ROMS site.
And the best thing is you don't have to worry about getting an virus from some cheap ROM Warez site, that would probably be to much for all the noob brains out there.

It isn't Piracy, unless you make a PROFIT off of it.
This is for fun, though. Not making money.

However, I can't make an ISO on my Mac, it ejects the disk and I don't want to Hack my External Hard Drive again and switch it out with a CD ROM Reader.

I own all the games I transfer to my Computer, so it isn't 'Piracy'
I do 'Pirate' them, but it is the only other way other than ripping them into an iso.

What if...I have a broken console (with no freaking way to dump the bios) and I found an equivalent bios on the net. Is it OK to get it?

Bios is a piece of copyrighted software, just as a game, so no, even if it was broken in a quake or in a tsunami, or your dog ate it, it is illegal to download it. Luckily, Dolphin uses a hle'd bios.

Now, while I don't discuss the legality of downloading a BIOS (when you already have one in your broken console) because I'm not a freaking lawyer, as a human being I find this highly unfair.

I mean, I have already paid for the damn thing and is still sitting there broken in my attic...and the stupid bios is legally mine now.
But, if for some reason I want to use a bios in an emulator, the only legal way would be to buy another console and dump it from there.

So in the end I paid for two BIOSes for the right to use only one BIOs that I've already paid for long ago.
Or, I'm charged twice the price for the right to use one single product.

You can call it whatever you want but I call it unfair and stupid. Turning the issue around...is it legal to be charged twice for one product?

And yes, hold your horses, the law is law and all that bull.
I'm not gonna download a BIOS and I don't need one.

And all of this raises another interesting question:
What if...after I buy the second console from someone, I found out that he has already dumped it's Bios and he is using it on an emulator?
Please don't tell me that I have to buy a third console just to be in sync with the law.
