What is this system equivelent to?

Damn that is nice for a netbook. It should be able to handle modern games if you crank down the settings, some weaker modern games like cod4 you probably won't even have to do that and I'll bet most modern games will run fine on medium settings thanks to your low resolution. Games from 2006 or earlier will most likely run maxed out at 30-60 fps.

Depends what you're doing with it. For video games it ranks somewhere between the 9500gt and 9600gt, closer to a 9500gt. For heavy cgi rendering with programs like maya or 3d studio max it will rank somewhere between a 9800gt and GTX 275, closer to a GTX 275. As you probably know quadro video cards are slower in video games than their equivalent geforce card (about half as fast) but faster in professional rendering programs (2-4 times as fast). The quadro fx 1800 is the quadro version of the 9600gt.

I wonder why there's such a difference between games and cgi rendering though. Something to do with memory?

A lot of differences. Memory is one of them, quadro cards have way more video memory since unlike video games professional cgi actually needs it. Many features like ECC are toggled on or off depending on if it's a quadro or geforce card. A lot of the pipeline stages that are used by professional renderers but not by video games are locked in geforce cards to improve performance in games.

Also I take back what I said about the ion being between a 8500gt and an 8600gt. The clock rates are lower than I thought, it;s actually slightly weaker than an 8500GT (about 10%) which makes it about 50-60% as fast as the ps3/360 gpus.

According to this Page my netbook cpu seems stronger than your Athlon 64. I doubt that is correct though.
Just for fun I ran this benchmark on my 1201N and I got a CPU mark of 711, 3d graphics mark of 185, and a memory mark of 321.

According to this thread the should be a few playable games on dolphin.

I've got:

CPU Mark: 650
3D Graphics: 236
Memory Mark: 279

Pretty close. My video card is the only thing better it seems according to that test. I guess you can play pretty much what I can, minus some video options.

I'm not sure if I understood perfectly, but from what I understood, it seems like by activating/deactivating some features of my Quadro, I can actually improve my card's performance in gaming without even overclocking.

No. You can't enable/disable them since they are part of the firmware. You might be able to flash the card with the firmware from the equivalent geforce card but their is a significant chance that that would just brick the card.
