I figured it out, you guys!!!
In order to use Gecko codes, you have to rename them as AR codes... so, 'Gecko' and 'Gecko_enabled' becomes [ActionReplay] and [ActionReplay_Enabled].
I certainly hope this helps anyone attempting to use Gecko codes or was confused as to what the problem might be.
