I'm doing a little research because I'm planning to update my PC soon, but my budge is really low, so what is the cheapest Intel processor that I can get to run heavy games (such as Zelda TP, SMG, SMG2, ect) at 100% speed with DSP LLE?

If I get an i3 2130 (2 cores - 3,4 GHz) it would be capable of running at 100% (yes, with overclock.. and how much GHz)?

And about an i5 680 (2 cores - 3,6 GHz), how much I would need to overclock?

Jhonn, if you wish to play Super Mario Galaxy 1&2 with LLE, I recommend you to get no less than a i5 2300.
That means you'll be able to play the game at 40~60FPS. Not a constant 100% speed.

Personally, I highly recommend the 2500K. Save up for it, it's really worth it.
With the 2500K, overclocked, you should be able to play the game at 100% at all times.

I'll try to get it.... The major issue is that I live in Brazil (the government here apllies abusive taxes on everything, computer and video games are imported as luxurium products), so an i5 2500k here cost about 800 BRL (or 400 US dollars)...

If I get the i5 2500k, how much I would need to overclock?

Quote:SMG, SMG2, ect) at 100% speed with DSP LLE?

Nothing can run SMG2 with LLE audio at fullspeed all the time. Even an i5 2500K at 4.5GHz will occasionally drop as low as 90% speed from what I've seen.

How much do the following cpus cost over there:
i3 2100
i3 2120
i5 2300
i5 2400
i5 2500
i5 2500K
i5 3570
i5 3570K

i3 2100 and 2120 aren't sold here (didn't find in any store). i3 2130 is the cheapest from the list and costs 450 BRL (225 USD). From i5 2300 to 2500 prices varying between 650 BRL (325 USD) and 750 BRL... The Ivy Bridge ones are at preorder only, 1000 BRL (500 USD) and the K one, 1200 BRL (600 USD)...

There already was a discussion about this and concesus was that SMG2 requirments were overstated.
If it drops to 90% speed on i5 2500k at 4.5 ghz then how come lowest speed I have seen on an i5 2400 in 15 hours of gameplay was 83% ???
That just doesn't make any sense unless game gets much more demanding towards the end, which I doubt.
Just do the math.
My cpu runs at 3.3 ghz when only 2 cores are used.
And is missing 17% muscle to get to 100%
Which would mean that 3.9 or 4 ghz would be enough to reach 100% speed.
Even if it doesn't scale this lineraly,I dont see how its posible that an i5 2500k at 4.5 can deliver anything other then 100% speed all the time.
Unless something alse is bottlenecking the game other then CPU.

As for the question op asked : Buy either an i5 2300,2400 or 2500k.
These first 2 options are much cheaper because not only cpu itself is cheaper, but mainboard as well.
But if you can save the money for 2500k setup, certanly go for it
