Hey, I'm new on this forum and to Dolphin and i have a few questions on how to run Super Smash Bros Brawl at full speed. My Wii has some no video/audio problem that i need to send back to Nintendo to fix for $75 Sad. I run Windows 7 on my computer and I'm almost certain that my computer is powerful enough to run the game, so that shouldn't be an issue (Not a clue on actual specs besides Intel quad core Big Grin).

1. I'm Trying to extract the ISO from my own disc using ImgBurn so i bought an LG GDR 8164B - Disk drive - DVD-ROM - 16x (I read that the LG 816 series is best/recommended) for $14 which i read a review that it can read Wii discs enough to create an ISO and it works well. Will this work and is ImgBurn a good thing for extracting the ISO from the disc?

2. I was skimming the forums today and saw some sort of fix for Dolphin so that the NTSC version of Brawl would work. Could you list all the things I'd need to get/download or settings in Dolphin that would make Brawl run the fastest? I saw something like a code fix? http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-5650.html

3. Since Brawl seems like a very demanding game on this emulator, would that mean I could run virtually any Wii/Gamecube game on the setting that work best for SSBB?

Thank you for taking the time to read over my questions.

A new member who has actually researched how things work on dolphin instead of feigning helplessness, that is positive.
The usual way to rip gc/wii images for usage on dolphin is a program called Rawdump and yes, your DVD drive will support it.

Probably yes, as it's demanding but not 'the' most demanding game that can be emulated on dolphin. If your rig could 'barely' run brawl, it could struggle with Zelda:TP and smg though.
Run <99% of other games (excluding zelda/galaxy) smooth if brawl works at full speed? Yes.

You mentioned your processor vaguely, but it will likely be fast enough for dolphin. Your graphics card is also quite important. The only way to really know is to test it. Nobody except people with rigs identical to yours could actually say with 100% certainty whether something is fast enough.

That was needed ages ago, but fortunately not anymore. The patch is automatically included in all revisions after 4687, when it was first committed.

Nothing, as all the optimal settings will be inbuilt. IIRC, there aren't any special plugins for brawl. Here is a general configuration guide that will help you. [1]

For later troubleshooting, here is the official game thread on Brawl. You will find all possible tweaks, tips and hints there as far as dolphin is concerned. [2]

Thank you so much! I'll look these things over. Smile From what I see, RawDump is free? And i remember that my dad recently changed out the video card in my computer to an Nvidia Geforce if I remember correctly.

This is somewhat true, if you fill the game with 4 players, items like assist trophies, explosions and 3 pokemon, the game gets really demanding, but usually you don't have all these and it's one of the lesser requiring games. Also, I don't know if it still works in the latest revision, but the game has an in-built frameskip that means you can still get fullspeed without full framerate.
