There are even more differences between the PC and the GC version (previous post updated)
What is better Sonic Heroes for PC or GC emulated?

The PC Version of the game literally is built from an older build of the game (think of the difference as PC version being 3.0 version of Dolphin, while the GC version being 3.5) There are tons of fixes, different physics, and generally better movement and AI overall. But there are some unique glitches and fun stuff for each version. Play whatever version you want, because a casual player won't likely notice the differences in a way that matters.

I'd like to know more about it since I planned on doing an LP soon (with the PC version) 02-16-2015, 06:30 AM

It's not really a "proven fact". But there's lots of extra anomalies in the PC version that suggest an older codebase (although that it disputed because the PC version was started after the console release, and some think it may just be absolutely shoddy coding).(02-16-2015, 03:11 AM)JMC47 Wrote: The PC Version of the game literally is built from an older build of the game (think of the difference as PC version being 3.0 version of Dolphin, while the GC version being 3.5) There are tons of fixes, different physics, and generally better movement and AI overall. The reason they think it's an older build is due to the lack of polish. Just because it was started later doesn't mean they tried to use a newer version, and couldn't get it building, and reverted to an older version. Sonic 06 had a similar situation where the demos were a newer build of the game than the final release, so I don't doubt Sega could have done it again.

So, Sonic Adventure 2 PC (no mods = vanilla) is better than GC version? and Sonic Adventure DX?

It's probably not an older codebase; Sega just sucked that badly at porting its games to the PC in the mid 2000s. Sonic Heroes is just one example.

Wow, that explains...a lot. I'm honestly surprised SEGA didn't at least try to get the newer build working, considering how unbelievably buggy the final product is. 02-17-2015, 04:25 PM

Well, i was playing today the.pc version (sa2) and is.... fucking awesome! faster and smoother, look great in widescreen using AA 32x, seems a great port of GC version!. Sadly sadx is the opposite... sttuters, graphics look outdated, collision is buggy...
P.D: I remember sonic heroes pc as a good port, smooth as buttercream and look's ok... Salu2 - Darkness Knight.
