It keeps your CPU away from dropping the usage (throtling) so the slowdowns doesn´t occur often AFAIK.

Idle skipping try to detect infinite loops in the cpu emulation. As they can only be terminated by interrupts, we are able to skip emulation until the next interrupt happens. 02-16-2014, 07:32 PM
